In my opinion it will decrease quality of World Cup and it's for money for sure

I was thinking the same, I hope it doesn't go too long. But there are some good sides to this. A lot of countries where football is very popular can't make it to the WC now. Other sports have less teams in their world cups because other sports aren't even close to being as globally widespread. The recent Euros was considered a failure though, but that was mainly because of the way the group stage was set up rather than solely the number of teams involved.

Since it's in the summer and nothing else is on they will get TV ratings anyway, but i bet people will get uninterested fast and will only watch the later stages after these mickey mouse teams have been eliminated.

The level in football is pretty high.
I don't think there is a big gap between the rank 25 to 50. So put 48 teams instead of 32 won't decrease the quality.
It might be good for some middle countries who will acheive to qualify more often to the world cup. I'am glad of it. I can't wait to heard the joy of algerians and morrocans fans burning cars on the streets.

The logistics would be impossible, surely?
