Berries are her best bet since they're relatively low in sugars compared to other fruits. Just to use myself as an example (as someone on a gluten-free diet), bananas, dried figs and dried apricots are my staples if I want something sweet. Very dark chocolate is an option too; personally I like 85% or higher but 70% is OK if that's too strong.

Dried fruit is the worst. You might as well eat candy. Fruit in general is only good due to the Vitamins/ antioxidants you get from them. Other than that it's just sugar basically.
If you plan on losing weight, you shouldn't eat more than 1-2 fruits pr. day it just doesn't make sense because fruit doesn't have fats/ proteins you need to survive while having a ton of sugar carbs that pretty much only hinders you weight loss.
There are no way to hinder your cravings, you just have to find out how many calories you need pr. day to lose weight in a healthy matter. Try to create a diet that revolves around hitting your calorie goal while covering your nutritional needs for proteins, fats and carbs and stick to it.

How does an average day look like for you, food wise?
I'm not inclined to give "general" tips to people because each body is different. Obviously fasting works for you. For me it wouldn't as I would only accumulate hunger and eat lots after a couple of days
But I get the moderation part, I never understood these mythical creatures who have one piece of chocolate per day. I know if I buy a plate of chocolate I'll eat the whole thing, so I just don't buy it at all.
