The Mediterranean type is not recognized by pigmentation (besides, this type is not always "brown"), but by the measurements (skull, height of the forehead, etc.).
The alpine type has been described as having an intermediate pigmentation, so one can have brown eyes, non-pale skin and brown hair AND have very close measurements or identitcal of the alpine type, so, be alpine.

well, these components, are actually quite different, altough they share a common root (basal-Rich) but West_Med has something like 30-40% WHG , while East-Med doesnt.
