The fact that they're all clinging on and sitting where they're not supposed to be? It's a gut reaction. Any crowd of people can have the same effect, but one in a filthy and overpopulated Third World country is obviously going to be more striking - especially from a First World perspective.
Incidentally, I've never been to NYC or London, so who knows? Maybe, it's the same.

Well, for one, if the train derails or even brakes hard, there won't be bodies all over the place.
The passenger densities on the inside of Indian and other Asian commuter trains are beyond what is seen in the average western train.
But whatever... their rail system does work, I'm not knocking it, it's just not their own creation.
Indians and other Asians would almost certainly make up the majority doing it here.So? Do you think this practice is limited to Indians?
