I was going through the collection of post stamps which my father collected when he was young and I saw some from Iran, with their king and queen.
I am interested in how Iranians, Kurds and others look at the period before becoming a theocratic republic. Better, worse or the same?

They look not much differently from the Lebanese and the Syrians.

It was a much freer time and Iran was not as politically isolated as it was a US client state. Now, Iran is more independent but economically/politically disadvantaged and its society is a lot more restricted. Hopefully it can get to a middle path eventually.

According to my family members, it was a lot better. In terms of now, you cant even walk on the sidewalk with the opposite sex.
