The data for what percentage European, etc. you are is just 23andMe's calc designed for New World mongrels who want to know what country their ancestors are from. GEDmatch completely blows 23andMe out of the water. There are some bad GEDmatch calcs like Gedrosia K3, but most of them are better at interpreting your ancestry than 23andMe is.
GEDmatch is shit and gives very different results on every other calc

23andme is very good for SSA and East Eurasian because that DNA is so distinct from other groups. If you don't show any then it's safe to say you don't have any.

I took AncestryDNA and I am 100% West Eurasian according to them at the end of the day the test that you payed for is more accurate

23andme was only able to calculate 99.6% of my ancestry and it was all European with some tiny "Yakut" that went away on Conservative mode. Also had something like 0.2% Ashkenazi and 0.1% MENA on Conservative mode. I think those were just noise results though.

I'd say the only good ones at interpreting your ancestry are Eurogenes and Dodecad.
23andMe just tells you that you're a mix of every population that settled in your region and they define regions (East Europe, South Asia, etc) based on political borders and their subjective opinion.

23andMe tells me I'm 87.5% South Asian, 11.5% Middle Eastern, 0.4% Southern European, and 0.6% undefined. However, I get significant European admixtures on most GEDmatch calcs (~20%), and have never gotten more than 35% South Asian (South Asian is defined by different components on different calcs) on any calcs.

I posted my results in this thread in case you're curious: https://www.theapricity.com/forum/sh...3andMe-Results

The lab just extracts DNA, it doesn't create a calculator.

Yeah most likely noise. AncestryDNA misinterprets a lot of South Euro ancestry for Caucasus and MENA, I have seen someone get 9% Caucasus on it

On a continent level it's extremely accurate when it comes to distinguishing SSA from East Asian and European though. Those aren't borders, those are distinct human genetic races.

I don't need a "calculator" made by enthusiasts. I want an ISO certified lab to give me my results. At least with the lab you get ONE solid result. With these calculators you get 20 different results.

23andMe tells you that you're a mix of every single genetic populace that lived in your homeland. Wow, very accurate and informative.

If you don't get any SSA in most GEDmatch calcs, then it's most likely just noise. Since SSA is typical for some groups, it doesn't show up on 23andMe since SSA is treated as if it's native to where they are from.

But sometimes GEDmatch calcs can show SSA when it isn't there based on some misinterpretation so not all GEDmatch calcs are good, but most/many are.

Well, geez, with the 25 different calculators that's really helpful. That's like asking me to pick a coin out of a jellybean jar to find "the right one".

I don't score SSA on most of the calculators. Some tiny 0.x results that are on some and totally absent on others. NONE of them get a constant 1% result though minus this K3 garbage.
