Greetings from a Macedonian

Greetings friends!

My name is Aleksandar, and as my nickname reveals clearly, I am an ethnic Macedonian. The main intent I had in joining this forum was exactly because of the fact that we Macedonians do not have a significant (or at all) quantity of representatives here, thus leaving an open field for the neighboring provocateurs to quarrel over Macedonia and the "question of the ethnicity" of the majority of it's population, the Macedonians. Let it be known in the beginning that I have no intentions other than defending the honor of my homeland and my people, whilst respecting the rights and opinions of the others.

Everybody, feel free to PM me (or opening a thread) about anything that interests you regarding Macedonia, the Macedonians, our Macedonian language, culture, music, architecture and traditions. I will be glad to clarify anything that might have not been clear to any of you until now.

I would like to express my deepest regret that there isn't a separate sub-forum called "Makedonija" in "The Apricity Regional", though I'm aware that it hasn't been created mainly due to the fact that there were basically no Macedonian members up until now. So I would like to officially ask for one to be opened as soon as possible.

I am also interested about matters involving Catalonia, Scotland, Circassia/Adyghe, Vainakhs (Chechens and Ingush) etc.

I sincerely hope that we will have a high level of mutual understanding and collaboration with all.

Sadly, theres nothing more, that i can do to help you. Even your language letters are Cyrrilic, your language is also exotic to my ears, but hey, you people from fyrom claim that your ancestor is Alexander the Great.

I'd advise you to visit the Museums from the Macedonia area of Greece, and compare the ancient Grrek to modern Greek and then to your Cyrrilic based alphabet.

Well, i can seriously understand your urge for history,culture, etc since you are a fairly new country,and you want to teach something to your people, but please, dont push it that much, its ridiculous.

Greek was the lingua franca of the Balkans in the period. Thracians also used Greek in the coins and inscriptions but they were not Greek. While I know that most probably ancient Macedonians did not speak proto-Slavic, and the state dignitaries used Greek, it is no indicator of their overall Greekness. And later on they were Latinized and Slavicized, then they tried to Turkify us and Bulgarify. But we still EXIST.
