IBS ~ Ancient sharingIBS stands for Identical By State, meaning the DNA matches either because it comes from a common ancestor (Identical By Descent - IBD) or by coincidence. When two individuals share numerous individual results without being related, those results are IBS. Only when enough consecutive results are identical do we identify the shared segment as likely being IBD.
IBD = Common ancestry (extending back a few centuries, for most populations)

I wonder why I am closest to the average of those 2 Austrians, while no one of those 2 Austrians is amoung my 30 closest?
And Lithuanians as second, with only one of 10 Lithuanians in the top 30? Hmm
