As if it were the most fundamental aspect of people's identities, whether individual or collective. Imo, it is preposterous to argue that a White American has more in common with a White Cuban or White Brazilian than with his or her Black compatriots, just because of shared genetics and phenotype. It is preposterous to argue that even an uneducated and barely literate Romanian or Russian who doesn't speak the local language would still be more beneficial for a country in Western Europe or North America than an educated and literate Chinese or Indian who does. It is preposterous to argue that Albanians and Bosnians have more in common with Scandinavians than with their Islamic brothers in Turkey and Lebanon, again due to genetics and phenotype. What do you think?

In the context of this forum more people than average prioritize the notion of race than perhaps they would in every day life. Still, it does make sense that people favor the group of people that looks the most similar to them. Where I live people still self-segregate based on background, with the MENA community all forming enclaves with just MENAs, Africans with Africans and so on. Other Western groups may do this initially but that has a greater tendency to change over time for the sole fact that they have an easier time integrating because they themselves as well as the rest of the native populace don't subconsciously see themselves as perpetual foreigners because of their appearance.

Race is important but there are many others elements. Identity is multiple.

Change 'an' or 'one' for 1000 chinese or indians and the perspective changes dramatically, and more in the long term, after several generations.
"Albanians and Bosnians have more in common with their Islamic brothers in Turkey and Lebanon than with Scandinavians , again due to a religion imposed by invaders and anyway with barely importance in every day people's life".
Well, this sounds preposterous to me.
And I believe that you are obsessed with race (too), always trying to show that a theorical 'european race/people/culture' doesn't make any sense. And often with malicious posts/threads which include a clear answer to cuestions you're supposedly asking in them.

(1) 1000 Romanians or Russians would also have an impact (good and bad) where they'd settle, don't you think? (2) Religion is far more central to (many) people's lives and beliefs than genetics/phenotype, certainly where Islam is concerned. (3) Not sure about Europe, but certainly in the New World it is ridiculous to argue that people have more in common with people with a different language and nationality but the same race than the other way round.
