Everyone knows that Estonians are close to Finns due to their Finno-Ugric language and genetics. However few people talk about Finnish closeness to Balts, such as Lithuanians.
Even though Lithuanians speak Baltic language, according to most genetic studies, Lithuanians got the second highest percentage of Finnic- Uralic N3 haplogroug, even slightly higher than Estonians. It's mostly due to huge influx of Ugric people from North-East to Lithuania at around 4000-5000 BC.
Once I heard a saying that almost every Lithuanian could pass as Finn, but not every Finn as Lithuanian. I think it's a bit of overstatement. But would like to hear from Finns. What do you think?
