When I say that people don't want to do it, what I mean is that NW Europeans are really obsessed about claiming that it is impossible to tell apart Celtic and Germanic. They don't want to know how Celtic they are, they want to be told that Celtic and Germanic are indistinguishable categories.

You put your thoughts and politics on to things and then project these on to others.. It's not that people don't want to be told anything it is patently obvious that populations i.e. Northwestern European are very close and that some of these components can go one way of the other.

I've just run myself with this using the FreeForm nMonte Runner and this is my result

Is it the labelling? I don't have an agenda and I just report what I've observed through the years. Last time I looked the Irish cluster with British, Dutch, Scandinavians etc. Some of these labels i.e. Anglo-Saxon, Celts, Germanics etc are more about identity and I think people should have more an open mind when it comes to genetics.

What exactly is Celtic? You should use your skills then to try and prove that you can separate these populations and stop trying to make statements that are obviously not correct. Do you really think people don't want to be Celtic and want to be Germanic? These are your interpretations and coming from your own biases.

I don't think it has anything to do with obsession but with a basic fact that it is difficult to distinguish Celts from Germans. Most Celts and Germans have Bell Beaker ancestry which makes them very similar genetically.

We are Gaels celticdragongod. That is something that is only related to Ireland and Western Scotland so a much more disambiguous term for our people.

Yes of course they are but instead of using terms like Celtic, Germanic etc I use Gael as a descriptor for my tribal identity. This is what the Irish are i.e. Gaels. Gael is a more personal identifier than Celt which is more ambiguous to me. It remains to be seen how much Celtic blood the Irish do in fact have. We are still Celts by culture and language however but being a Gael is specifically Irish.
