Not sure why so many westerners today believe that democracy in their own nations is based on true democracy. Think of politicians as prostitutes. Trudeau's popularity and power has fallen and taken a blow as his party only very narrrowly won the General Election, but he's now lost his majority, and hence has lost his power.

It'll be harder for him and his Liberal Party to pass any new legislation through the Canadian parliament with a minority government in power.

We have a similar problem in the UK at the moment with the Tory-DUP coalition minority government in 'power'... and it's dubbed here as a 'zombie government' and a 'powerless government' and a 'hostage government', who are at the mercy of the other parties MP's, struggle to pass any new legislation through parliament, and are forced to submit to abiding by legislation they don't like that's passed through the House of Lords by the opposition parties who join together in parliamentary votes against the government.

The opposition Conservative Party in the Canadian Parliament have won an increase in their seats... so their party politicians will now have more power and influence in Canadian affairs.
