i don't think "outliers" should be excluded. we still have very few samples to exclude any. if we would have at least 1 million tested people then it would make sense but we barely have...how may? probably a few hundreds at max..probably less. we need all the samples to be able to have a realistic view of the genetic make-up of a country...maybe with time other similar results will come but we have nothing to compare them with cose we cut them off already and those people will always end up as outliners.
an ethnicity is always chaging, today it's not the same as hundreds of years ago due to migrations and mixing. an ethnicity is in a countinuous change..we don't live in tribes anymore, we're not all blood related. we're related by other stuff today, like culture/religion, history and language. we need to find the current genetic composition of each ethnic group.

if you wanted to see the oracle for the Slovenian reference, then it's done differently. I used 11 Slovenian samples, you 15, that's why it doesn't show 100% Slovenian in the first position.
If you want to see the oracle for average Slovenian, Hungarian, Ukrainian etc. reference, then one must use the exact average values.

Agree. Very well said. For example I doubt modern Croats were identical to Croats living just 100 years ago. That can work for many other ethnicities.

Most ethnic groups used to be a lot smaller than today because until recently the birth rates were generally high, so if there were 1 million people in 1800, in 1950 there would have been 3 million or more. Africa had like 200 million in 1950 and 1.1 billion in 2020 simply because of the growth rate. Small countries tend to have a limited gene pool, many Muslim countries are very inbred for example.

My perception is based on idea we were in Austro-Hungarian Empire and mixing mostly with other Central Europeans, while in Yugoslavia we mixed with other Balkan people including BiH Croats, who are now very present in Croatia itself and 100 years ago it was not the case. I doubt we changed much, but I believe it's logical to expect we became bit more Balkan shifted.

Same applies to Slovenians.

While reverse happened in Serbia, they became bit more central European shifted since large influx of Serbs from Croatia and Bosnia. Now we are closer than we were, I'd say.
