What state was this? Apparently this is fairly common in the American South. I seem to have matches with African Americans in Virginia and North Carolina. I actually have ancestors through a great-grandfather that have been in this country for a long time and lived in the Southeastern United States before migrating west and northwards.

This was in Louisiana. A French ancestor of mine had an affair with his slave. I found out she was from the Senegambian slave trade. At least that’s what the documentation said.

Well my dad is mostly English/Irish and my mom is mostly French so I think they lap my French in with it.
I receive no French on ancestry anymore.

I think they do that as well. I also think they do that with German. I think some of it goes into England.

That is a big % from Norway, this does not look to me like a very good result overall for you. No French!?

Agreed. My mom has German as well. In fact my most recent ancestors originated from Sachsen so my French and German should be higher than English yet these tests always conclude me being of English ancestry.

What about your mom's update?

2% French.
I think my mom is a lot more heavily mixed than I realized. I mean look how many small percentages we have of each European category. I even have Greece and Balkans now haha
