German is overrrated

It's interesting how German sounds quite masculine, whereas Swedish sounds quite bisexual..

But I'm assuming that Somalis are somehow responsible for the latter in the above...

I watched Inglourious Basterds yesterday and it reminded me that German sounds pretty cool. It's not as aggressive as people make it out to be.

German sounding aggressive is a stereotype. It actually is pretty pleasant to my ears in reality.

Serbo-Croatian sounds heterosexual, for the most part.

I don't think so, especially those dialects with rolled /r/ sound pretty good imho. The higher the distance from the Netherlands and Denmark the better Germanic languages sound I think. The grammar is challenging in a good way.

German is my favorite sounding Germanic language. To my ears it sounds simultaneously manly and intelligent. Its poor aesthetic reputation is strange to me as well since I think Romance languages are the overrated ones, not that they are bad of course, just personally don't see them as so obviously more beautiful than other languages.

It's hard for us to judge our own language. But I've been told more than once by native Anglo speakers that when two Russians speak it seems like they are about to either start a fight or jump on someone. Makes people very very uncomfortable.
