Japan a small country, with a Space Agency smaller than ESA.

Is more advanced than ESA and leading worldwide on Asteroid landing with their Hayabusa spacecraft.

They will have a great future harvesting resources from Asteroids, Europe as a continent with 500mio people is not even remotely close to that.

The Future is in east Asia.

This is what matters in the near future.
Space exploration will be limited to very few nations, Europe gotta set a bigger focus on it.

Space exploration is extremely costly for countries to compete with one another, but at the same time without competition governments are less keen to fund space programs, it's a dilemma.

Also, i don't expect Asteroid mining to become a thing in next decades, world is not close to that technology.

Japan will be the first nation that got a foot in it, thats what matters.

Also India, China and even small Israel are now players in space exploration. Not to mention the private companies like Space X, Virgin or blue origin should indicate the unlimited profit that awaits those who invest in it.

There is no game to be player of (yet), these research missions don't bring any economic exploitations, they only bring knowledge and glory.

Real game is Artificial Intelligence, it's what will change the world in near future, like how industrial revolution changed it.

Those who do not participate in space exploration at the moment do not miss much, only the glory; but of course those who do have space missions play an important role in increasing our knowledge, keeping us interested and they will have the upper hand by being experienced when the game starts.

Not at all, they are a investment, small players invest meaning there is no direct income yet. The intrests and effort in space exploration that happens lately is not a coincidence. Space X is able to land their Falcon 9 undamaged, way more reliable than the space shuttles were, you know how much money will be safed by that? The Space elevator will be the next great project that will make space exploration so much cheaper and starts resource harvesting. Helium 3 which can be found on the moon is their aim.

Australia started a space agency in 2018.

But the private companies will rule
