Today we find ourselves in a place where we have never been before in our cabrides: We're aboard a Thurbo GTW (GelenkTriebWagen, articulated EMU made by Stadler) in Wattwil and ready to depart with the S9 service. Our route today takes us through the famous rural Toggenburg region in eastern Switzerland, with many stretches of single track and a lot of landscape to see. All stops and most of the route are in the Canton of St. Gallen, but for a very short time, just before reaching Wil SG, we enter the Canton of Thurgau and leave it again after just about 50 seconds. Thurbo is a private railway company and subsidiary of the federal railways SBB, which operates regional lines in eastern and northeastern Switzerland. It operates independently and plays an important role in railway traffic in the regions served. Enjoy the views over open fields and some bridges on this trip! Locomotive/EMU: Stadler GTW (RABe 526)

Once again we‘re in close proximity of Lake Constance and will be for the majority of this cab ride. Welcome to Rorschach, a small city at the southernmost point of Lake Constance. Our trip today takes us on parts of the well-known „Seelinie“ (lake-route) alongside Lake Constance up to Romanshorn, where the train will change its direction of travel and continue further to Amriswil and Weinfelden, the terminus of the S7 service. Once we‘re in Weinfelden and all passengers have left the train, we will shunt the train to Depot Weinfelden, located close to the passenger station. One of the stops on our trip is Arbon, where the famous Saurer trucks and buses were once manufactured. Saurer may be gone from the automotive industry, but their products from that time seem to live forever and you can experience them live: Arbon Classics is an event worth visiting for everyone who likes historic vehicles of all kinds, cars, trucks, buses, bikes, ships, planes, tractors and yes – also trains! The Locorama in Romanshorn holds a collection of historic trains and is open during the warmer half of the year. And only a few minutes after leaving Romanshorn, we'll see brand new Stadler trains for Greater Anglia in the UK, Mälartåg in Sweden and the Giruno for the Swiss Federal Railways SBB, one of them is also parked in Arbon. Please note that due to the roster, we changed the train (and platform) in Romanshorn. Our original train from Rorschach didn‘t continue further to Weinfelden, however, what you see here is the full route of the S7, which I wanted to show from start to end. Thanks to highly advanced Hollywood technologies, aka cutting, I was able to do so. Locomotive/EMU: Stadler GTW (RABe 526)
