16th century is already Turkish era. Post english text about that 13th century monestary. Manastir Krka inscription is known forgery for example.

You people claim Raška, Montenegro, Šumadija, and Slovenia to be originally Croatian lands.

Be careful with Split samples or from any bigger coastal city. Most of people there are not indigenious Čakavian Croats but Vlaji from hinterland.
Zadar is mixed with Italian and Arbanas (Albanian) element as well.

Southern Čakavians are best preserved in islands and smaller coastal towns and they seem very Slavic like that man from Kaštela.
I don't have gedmatch of my 23andme fully Islander matches and they score much higher eastern European than štokavians.

No way they will be like Serbs, but significantly more Slavic unless Italian/Venetian input.

They are also visibly lighter than Štokavians.

Max Soldo obviuos has recent foreign admixture . I have seen few other Croatian results from Livno and they are 28-29% Baltic.
