It simply didn't match my parents' scores on Ancestry, my Gedmatch, or my 23andMe. It overestimated my SSA by a lot, even making it higher than my mother's, for example. I was happy with my 23andMe besides the fact that it originally underestimated my North African, but that was because at the time, they simply added the NA score to Iberians. They are changing that now so there is some growing pains. It has me at 3% so far, with 3% "undefined," so I believe that by the time it's all over, my overall MENA will be at 6%.

You must compare always MH results to other MH results, 23andme results with 23andme results, never compare results of different companies with each other.
Anyway, being from Cuba, if some of your ancestors were there for several generations, is not so strange that you have an extra input of SSA, and even for an Iberian from peninsula, an overall MENA of 8% or more is not that inusual, is not the average, but is not rare. In Canary Islands you can find people with double than this.
You can update your raw data purchasing MH health upgrade, you don´t need to send another saliva sample, but it´s no free (60 $), one member did it and his gedmatch results and G25 changed somewhat.

Genetic results should conform to each other across companies. The fact that my parents' ancestry reports correlated very strongly with my 23and results confirms that it is probably correct. The fact that MyHeritage showed something entirely different, shows me that it is not correct. If all scores show a certain thing, and another shows something entirely different, then I'm inclined not to believe the aberrant result. It's logical.

You know that they are only estimations, they margin of error is significant. I don´t consider that Mh is (much) worse than others, but I accept that they results could be wrong in some particular cases.
Anyway, their raw data are very similar with those of 23andme.
Did you do the MH test a long time ago?
We talked time ago about this issue if I remember well...

One of the reasons I use SSA as a litmus is because it is significantly distinct enough from European so that it should be easy to "spot." It's more natural that there should be some uncertainty between European and MENA groups, but SSA, like East Asian/Amerindian is pretty distinct from Euro so that it shouldn't be a question of more than a couple of tenths of percentage points. Say, 3 vs. 2.5% or something. But if a company gets it off by twice as much, say 6% vs 3%, then I know it's off. Anyway, I didn't mean to derail the thread.
