Teaching a wrestler to box is way easier than teaching a boxer to wrestle. And most people cross-train. So why limit yourself to one thing. If it was like you say, MMAs would've been won by boxers, and that's really very rare. Kickboxers sometimes do that (like Mirco), but most of the people are versatile, and the most successful ones come from a wrestling background.

MMA is more exciting to watch, but boxing is the deadliest martial art (Mu-ay Thai kicks having the most force of any strike, notwithstanding.)

I've always been into boxing and I've boxed for several years now. It's one of the most fundamental yet important martial arts, even Bruce Lee studied boxing. There is use for both mma and basic boxing, but I'd rather watch two men duke it out on their feet than rOll around on the floor holding each other.

Well I have a pair of custom made heavy bag gloves, and a pair of 8 oz Everlast sparring gloves. In competition they provided the gloves for me.
