Turkic admixture is recent in some Europeans, 600-1500 years, and can affect very much the look of some European populations. Finno-Ugric one is more balanced, because the Mongoloid component is old, from Paleolithic. Slavs who assimilated Finno-Ugric populations show such traits, but are not so screaming, plus they are not swarthy. Turkic admixture most of time produce swarthy wogish look.

Well, Volga Tatars can be very light, can be like you (pretty common), can be slightly darker as well. But I think their EE is not entirely from the Volga Bulgars. Some other Turkics are mixed with dark Caucasoids.

Volga Tatars live in the area surounded by many Finno-Ugric populations, plus exist other Turkic populations in that region like Chuvash and Bashkir who have way more dark types than any Finno-Ugric population from the Volga region.

Not sure about Chuvash being darker than the others. They're very similar to Mari people for example. Bashkirs are more Eastern both genetically and geographically (Yuzhnoye Priuralye), so it's no surprise.
