If the Sintashta had more Atlanto-Med than Russians (Russians are ca. 20% on average), why is it so fucking low in Afghanistan and Pakistan? One quarter Sintashta should logically translate into at least 5-7% AM but most Afghans are barely 1-2%.

Some of their Med could be hidden in Caucasus component. Also, it’s possible Afghans have more Yamnaya, which was CHG rich instead of EEF rich Sintashta.

ANF is modern day European component as well. When ANF mixed with some WHG people, it became EEF. EEF peaks in groups like Sardinians today. Iran N and CHG are part of same cline. Like their Paleolithic composition is almost similar. Iran N shows slight AASI shift, while CHG shows slight EHG shift. But it likely was CHG that contributed to Steppe.
