Wow. The first and the only Thakuri kit so far. Looks like East Asian shifted Chhetri. However, the "S-Indian" is pretty consistent with Chhetris; the "Baloch" component is mostly traded off with "NE-Asian". Since Thakuris are not homogeneous, the person's ancestry would be important here. @Godardt, you have it now.

Yeah i always wonder why bahuns and chhetris have pretty much the same ASI, even when the chhetri is like almost 35-40% East asian/siberian like that khadka sample i posted. Chhetris as a group formed after bahuns mixed with magar/mongoloid groups right? It should decrease all south indian and baloch proportionally but thats not the case. Even if we assume overtime they got more indic mix from mixing with bahuns, it doesnt explain why it only lowers baloch but not the S.indian

I assume after coming across several writeups most Bahuns, Chettris and Dalits sprung up from Khas pastoralists.

Yeah, that's what I don't get. Chhetris are basically from the same South Asian stock (Khasa) as that of Brahmins/Bahuns, not that Chhetris are created from Bahuns though some Bahuns are absorbed into the Chhetri community. Chhetris gained more TB admixes that it should have been that Average Chhetris = Average Bahuns+ 20% Tibeto-Burmese. However, the S-Indian is same among both, though Chhetris being more East Asian admixed or say S-Indian/Baloch ratio is higher in Chhetris than Bahuns. That's also fine, Chhetris could be more AASI than Bahuns. However, both the heavy Tibetan shifted Khadka sample and the Thakuri sample have no significant reduction in their S-Indian from average Chhetri, or say they have insanely high S-Indian/Baloch ratio at 1.93 & 1.58 respectively compared to 1.30 for average Chhetris. If it was proportionate reduction of S-Indian & Baloch in both, it would have been closer towards that.
Also, surprisingly that the least East Asian admixed Chhetri (Kunwar sample) doesn't exceed 35% S-Indian as well (should've been 37%-39% S-Indian going by that S-Indian/Baloch ratio). That shows whatever East Asian proportion Chhetris have, they score S-Indian between 30%-35%. Baloch is mostly traded off/fluctuated for NE-Asian.

Interestingly, I expected Sherpa to be the most Tibetan shifted but they're scoring more or less similar South Asian admix as Kirantis (Rai/Limbu) so far.

bro are there any groups by the last name "singhe" in nepal? This person gets 77% NE asian. singhe is a last name found in sikkim based on some facebook profiles i've seen, but im not sure if there are kirants that have that surname. could be a tibetan living in india like around dharamsala and such. Honestly this person gets higher NE asian than majority of even northern chinese and japanese. there are some koreans and one ne chinese from liaoning that have higher NE asian though. highest NE asian i've seen is 79% from a northeast chinese dude. this sikkimese person is only 2% away.

Singhe's not found in Nepalese Tibeto-Burmese groups afaik.
Wow. That guy's way more NE-Asian shifted than even the Sherpas who descended from Tibet as recent as 200 years ago. That looks likely a very isolated tribe. I mean that's the lowest "S-Indian" score in the mainstream South Asia. This sample's likely from East Indian/Bhutan regions bordering Eastern Nepal looking at the pattern of the score. That's the place where "NE-Asian" component peaks in South Asia imo.
