For average that could be right, but for example the Kozan district is full of Yörüks. Adanas eastern neighbor provinces seem to be a local hotspot for high east eurasian what i have seen.

It's one of the most fertile places in the world, part of the ancient fertile crescent. 30% of turkish agriculture is from that region. It's also flat land which is not that common in Turkey. There is also the Harran plain in Urfa, which has become even more fertile through dam buildings.
