Georgians are one of the first nations to accept Christianity in 4th century. They accepted it long before many European nations. Today Rize, Artvin has muslim Georgians and some Adjarians are muslim Georgians too.

So it's pretty much confirmed his ancestors weren't from Central/Eastern Anatolia? Wikipedia says he grew up in Rize but I thought maybe his parents were from elsewhere. If his ancestry is indeed Georgian + East Black Sea, then his Mongoloid should be either absent or barely above a noise level.

Pazarcik would be majority kurdish if they wouldn't migrate out, but it's not true for Elbistan. The city centre is pretty big, 110k of the 140k district population lives there - and it's mostlye sunni turks. Even if the villages would be all kurdish(which they are not) it wouldn't make kurds majority because the villages have too small population generally.

Yes true, Elbistan town centre probably has a Sunni Turk majority right now. You have to remember 2 factors when it comes to Maras though
- a huge portion of its Kurds have migrated to Europe (the biggest portion of Kurds in the UK are from Maras province for example)
- influx of ethnic Turks and Syrian Arabs into the region
