Zhytomyr Oblast average is closest to Kiev average from the other dataset.

Which confirms the validity of Kiev average (23 samples, without outliers).

Zhytomyr oblast is badly represented. Only two samples from villages. The big part of Zhytomyr city population has ansestors from other regions. Moreover there are a lot of other ethnicities - Poles, Jews, Russians, Gypses.

Not just Southern Ukraine. Most of today's Ukraine east of Kiev. That area also contains around 70% of the population.

As per the 1989 census (last Soviet census)

In the rest of Ukraine it was below or slightly above 5%.

Back in 1989 Zhitomir oblast was 85% Ukrainian, 7.9% Russian and 4.5% Polish.

Ok, so nothing new from this region, except the heavily mongoloid person. Nice.

I just remembered one of the kits is labeled just as "Tshern" so it could be either from Chernivtsi or Chernigov.
You can see it in my first post among the Chernigov kits.

i've uploaded it to gedmatch to see if matches more west or east Ukrainians.
if it's from Chernivtsi it's peak Slavic for the region, but there are such results in Zakarpatye so it's possible.

EG600024 seems quite typical for Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast (based on comparison with GEDmatch samples).

On the other hand, EG600011 & EG600030 look very weird and atypical for Ternopil Oblast, in my opinion.

Zolotonosha sample in K36 lol, really western shifted.
