Wrong, the difference between north and south is very minimal, to be honest i didn't notice it in the real life. Now in 2021 these 100 years old hair and eye maps makes no sense, there were many internal migration between the world wars and after the WW2, and after the fall of communism many north (eastern) german moved to the richer areas, and basically South Germany is richer than the northern regions. Trust me you will see same peoples in the north and south.

You are right, IIRC Schleswig-Holstein had 50% (or something) MORE inhabitants in 1945 than in 1939.

Because even if a majority don't have wholesale blonde hair (do even Swedes and Finns though?), the percentage is still very high by global and even European standards. Germans are noticeably blonder than even Brits and Northern French, let alone people from further south in Europe.
