There are conflicting data on the matter, but there's no longer any doubt that Moroccans (and people of Moroccan origin) are more numerous than Algerians in Europe.
Furthermore, both diasporas differ: a large part of Algerians are rather secular and fled their country in (more or less vocal) opposition to the local regime, whilst Moroccans are staunch Muslims and are strictly controlled by the Moroccan government.

I think you're right about it.
I just checked, there are currently (for obvious technical/geographic conditions) about one million Moroccans in Spain and much less Algerians (200,000 to 300,000).
But for the cultural reasons I mentioned, the Moroccan diaspora is a lot more visible, for instance here in France.
Similarly, Pakis and Muslim Indians are much more noticeable in Britain than non-Islamic Indians.
Other than that, I don't think that Algeria can compare to India.
India used to be the jewel of the British empire. French Algeria was only an attempt to build overseas an extension of Southern France, with a modern agriculture, industries, universities, railways and other infrastructures.
But ultimately it was a costly investment that never paid back.

There were virtually no mixing between French pied-noirs and indigenous Algerians, it was a de facto segregation even if there was no formal anti-miscegenation law
It is well documented by the demographer-historian-anthropologist Emmanuel Todd, I can provide you the stats (AFAIK it was less than 0,04% of all mariages in colonial Algeria)
In fact, there were more Anglo-Indians than French-Algerians, despite being much more %-wise in their colony.
Now if we talk about modern situation, within France or UK, there are much more mixing between secularized Algerians (in fact people born in France of Algerian background) and ethnic Frenchs, than in the UK between South Asians and ethnic Britons.

As Ouistreham said, the Algerians are relatively more secularized (Kabyle-Berber identity where Islam was less strong than among Arabized Algerians) than Moroccans, especially those who went to Europe are often from the North (Chamal), and are more conservative (Riffians especially)
The Algerian radicals from the FIS did not migrate to France much
And also the Moroccan state is more organized in terms of networks (Consulates/embassies, funding mosques and other communautarian associations) than Algeria, which is a complete failed state...
The Tunisians are the most secularized of all Maghrebians FYI
