Btw for some reason South Asia score is missing.

    Some interesting 2 way results:
    Distance to: syrian
    3.12522967 51.20% Dargin + 48.80% Syrian_Muslim
    3.31274110 36.40% Jordanian_Muslim + 63.60% Lezgin
    3.34351657 53.60% Avar + 46.40% Syrian_Muslim
    3.37960420 63.00% Lezgin + 37.00% Palestinian
    3.38929324 45.40% Syrian_Muslim + 54.60% Tabasaran
    3.40497248 59.60% Lezgin + 40.40% Syrian_Muslim

this is the result I forgot East African:

    Gedrosia: 21.86
    Siberian: 1.80
    NW_African: 0.45
    SE_Asian: 0.00
    Atlantic_Med: 9.13
    North_European: 14.67
    South Asian: 2.14
    East_African: 0.22
    SW_Asian: 12.50
    East_Asian: 1.86
    Caucasus: 35.36
    SSA: 0.00

the calculator just picks Azerbaijani-Dagestan if the northeuro is higher. This is a common effect I noticed on all Iranian results with higher north_euro. It doesnt mean the person has Dagestani ancestry (although it still could be a possibility for some.)

The other Kurd you mentioned is the one from the West Asian study? How do you know his tribe? He wasn't even labeled a Kurd, we just guessed it because the dataset is from Syria. Unlike this new one that one was clearly unmixed.

Yeah, I understand that due to the high NE the calculator picks Dagestan, and that it does not necessarily mean much. But it does indicate that it is an anomaly. In this case NE is just too pronounced for the region that this person is from.

I deleted the previous 2Way as it was incorrect due to East Africa. After fixing it, North European thing becomes even more noticeable. This is what I get now. Maybe north European great grandparent or again, some form of Dagestani:

Someone from a kurdish site mentioned that prior kurdish NE-record (of their group) was from the same tribe. I assumed it was that result. But you are right it probably isn't then.

According to the person he is 100% Kurdish.

It has nothing to do with a Dagestani ancestry. There’s quite a bit of variation in kurds as you will find out when you start seeing alot of kurd results.

For example this 100% kurd from Iraq whose parents and grandparents are very well known to me from the Balata tribe has this result. It has nothing to do with a NE European recent ancestor. They’ll laugh at you if you even suggest it

@Zoro Yeah, outliers are to be expected, especially for such a large ethnic group. The person Kyp posted is probably one of them.

I thought about Dagestanis mainly because I remembered the article Ratcat (RIP) posted about lezgin and chechen who moved to that area and assimilated into the local population.

an incident, which if I am not mistaken, was completely fabricated.
