I think he said his parents were from different parts of Bosnia.
I often mention him because I kinda like his results, quite balanced, even with some Mongoloid cherry on top of the cake

From what I know, he is from east Bosnia and east Herzegovina (but born Sarajlija). Somebody correct me if wrong.

I don't know, Slavonia wasn't empty when Ottomans came (although it was lowly populated), and I never heard locals escaped Turks somewhere. So probably some converted to Islam.
Dialect isn't best thing to determine ancestry. These things can change in few generations.

Or maybe these settlers from Bosnia (I haven't heard for it btw but possible as settlers from BiH came to Hungary, like my family, so why would Slavonia be exception) came from Posavina or Soli/Usora which are defacto Panonnian regions and had same population like old Slavonia and Hungary?

Just speculating, but perhaps Panonnian Slavs extended south to Posavina and Mačva. Ethnic history of these lowlands is not clar to me.

Probably some medieval Slavonians stayed under the Ottomans and converted on islam, but small number. According to Ottoman defters Slavonia was almost empty when Ottomans come.
During the 16th century under the Ottoman rule new population from Bosnia, Herzegovina, Raška etc. arrived to Slavonia. Many of that settlers converted to islam.
Look at your paternal ancestors. They settled to Slavonia in 16th century from Popovo Polje in Herzegovina as Ottoman martolos, converted on islam in Slavonia, and in late 17th century they escaped to Dubica when Austrians took Slavonia.
