Half Russian from Voronezh, Russia whose family settled in Turkmenistan and half Moldovan/Romanian from over the Dniester in what is now Kherson, Ukraine. So likely close to full East Slavic, which is what he looks like.
"Frunze was born in 1885 in Pishpek (now Bishkek in Kyrgyzstan), then a small Imperial Russian garrison town in the Kyrgyz part of Russian Turkestan (Semirechye Oblast). His father was a Romanian para-medic (feldsher) (originally from the Kherson Governorate)[1] and his mother was Russian."
