Lets keep in minds now ... blue eyes are not exactly blue, they just look like blue.
Unfortunately not. These are from physical anthropological texts. Most eye colors are not pure. The pure eye colors are dark brown, brown, light gray and dark blue. Others eye colors are most mixed which occurs in between. Such light blue eyes are just a variation between light gray and dark blue. As you already the green eye lies brown and blue.

Well, if outcome of mixing light gray eyes and deep blue eyes will be light blue eyes, then I assume light gray eyes alone will have to be ''lighter'' than deep blue eyes? Just like I said once.

The problem is that you are assuming. See. Gray eyes are due to the Mie scattering while blue ones are due to Rayleigh scattering.

Gray eyes may contain just enough melanin in the front layer to dim the blue wavelengths of light that are reflected back by the tissue of the eye. Dark gray eyes have a bit more melanin in that front layer than pale gray eyes.

Scientists also think that the fibers in the stroma may scatter light in such a way that the iris appears gray.

Estonia and Latvia are clearly the nations which are a competition for Scandinavian countries in terms of blondness. Additionally around 90% of Estonians have either blue or grayish - blue eyes. Therefore, the origin of true («pure») blondism is said to have originated in the Baltic region ( in Lithuania apparently) or in Scandinavia (in southern Sweden). True blondism is said to be a combination of blonde hair + light eyes + fair skin.

This question has not been finally settled. Depending on sources and scientists, one or the other is «darker», but the main thing is that they are light eyes.

Personally I will not make that as hard. Or needs to take rabbit from hat. I trust on my own eyes. If we compare these:

    Deep blue eyes:

    to these....

    Light gray eyes:

Result? My eyes says that latter ones are lighter. Fully another question is which one are prettier....

But honestly with blonde hair, those kind of deep blue eyes would look too strong. Someway stands out from faces.

    Light blue eyes fits better...

    These kind of ....

Even mix of blue and gray:

PS: Some shares blue eyes bit more groups than just deep or light:

It is subjective though. Although pure blue eyes are even darker than what you show there. Also you are only showing lighter gray eyes, although there is great variety in gray eyes.
This southern English has dark navy blue eyes with orange hair.

grey is no more than 1%
    get lost from grey colour

According to World Atlas, less than one percent of the global population has gray eyes, making the color incredibly hard to find.
