As expected Iron Age Central Europeans fall closest to modern-day French and Southwestern Europeans, with some more northern outliers. The Migration Period brutally changed the genetic landscape.

Wtf? Croatian IA are all homogenously Iberian like except one who is Sardinian like (probably mislabeled neolithic sample?)
There are indeed some very weird samples there, I don't doubt many of them are mislabelled or misdated.

Or perhaps Celts were more of a culture than homogenous genetics.

Yes, I think you're right. They are preeliminary coordinates anyway, it may be that the new ones will be fixed.

Yes, the Proto-Celts probably looked like this. There are some dissenters who think Celtic was spoken by Bell Beakers (crazy theory IMO), or that it was spoken further north in northern France, but Proto-Celtic in MLBA western-central Europe around Austria is still the strongest theory. The spread of Celtic languages involved massive population replacements (~50% in Southern Britain according to this new paper is pretty dramatic, and Britain was only a periphery of the Celtic expansion), so there is a genetic basis linking all historical Celtic speakers although Proto-Celtic ancestry was already diluted by mixing with Bronze Age French when Celts first reached Britain.

    Comment from Eupedia forum:

I26726, MBA Croatia, is the oldest J-Z638+ sample yet. It comes from the very south of Croatia, near the Adriatic coast. The vast majority of Albanian J-L283 stems from this particular branch, and I think this is good news for Albanians.

This alleged Bronze Age sample from Croatia significantly differs from all the others in that set and plots with modern-day Serbs. Not only that, but the Y-DNA of that male is I-Y3120!

Yeah, it's obviously medieval, just no idea from where. There are probably lot of mislabeled Czech IA samples too, some look very Germanic.
