Germans in Czech Republic (and areas near by like county Glatz) are more Austrian like ("SE German") than north-eastern German like (Meck-Pom, Prussia etc).
They seem mix of southern Germans and Slavs more or less.
But I don't see special Balkanic influence either. It's just that central Euro Celts were pretty woggy genetically, and even heavily overlapping Balkan Illyrians.
These Germans probably have high Celtic affinity.

I agree and maybe I expressed wrongly. County Glatz is Eastern German and southern shifted, which makes it go quite far in the direction of Slovenia on the PCA (provided by Brazorf f. i.). I did just put that bluntly. From a pan German perspective Slovenia is in the direction of the Balkans. That's all.

You are right and I must apologize. I'm essentially a Prussian and for Prussians the Balkans begin with Bavaria or, however, with Austria. But this is more an intra German teasing with a twinker smile.

But it has a grain of truth. Ignorance towards rules, a higher level of corruption, a more hard or even cruel mindedness ("massacre mentality) and dindarid types, all this begins already in Bavaria.

I appreciate these parts of Germany as well and I'm even thankful for that contribution as it neutralises some of that stupid "Scandinavian" naiveity that is around, especially in NW Germany.

The two break downs are not vastly different especially as K15 does not have Icelandic. I also get Icelandic my second closest population behind Ireland on the G25. I'm thinking this is because of my Bronze Age affinity and the Icelanders' Gaelic ancestry.

"In the 19th century the Austrian chancellor Metternich is supposed to have said that “the Balkans start at the Rennweg “ (an area in the 3rd district in Vienna). Since then this saying has often been quoted to highlight the geographical and cultural ties that Vienna and Austria have with the Balkan region."
