The Ket are a siberian people who live in the middle valley of the Yenisei River, a hypothesis argues that on the basis of some physiognomic and cultural traits they share the same direct common ancestor with the Amerindian peoples before human migrations crossed the Bering Strait.
They are closely genetically related to other Siberians, East Asians, and indigenous peoples of the Americas. They mainly belong to the haplogroup Y-DNA Q-M242
Ket is the last surviving language of the Yeniseian language family. It is generally included within the Dené-Yenisean language family, consisting of the Yeniseian languages of Siberia and the Na-Dené languages of North America.
