I think everybody kinda got it wrong what I argued: the only thing I argued is for a select few neighboring regions with a distance under 1.5 to each other to possibly be connected, since they are so samey, while all other regions should remain in the main sheet, since they have larger distance than that, like 1.5-2+, which already shows a certain amount of difference and can be valuable for the overall picture. I wouldn't want to delete regions at all from the main sheet, because they are very valuable.
At one point earlier I used to have separate averages for Transdanubia and Budapest, Transylvania and Székely, but then I realized that how useful it really is to have so similar to one another averages when I could easily group them together and thus making the results less cluttered and offering a bigger picture. When you get Transdanubia+Budapest, it means you mostly have a Western shifted Hungarian likeness, why should you get both results when they are so similar, hence one average is sufficient to describe this type of Hungarian.

Yeah, a basic version can also have its place, even though for such genetically diverse countries like Russia, Spain, Romania, Poland, Greece, Germany, France, Italy, Ukraine, just to name the bigger ones, which have distances of 2-3 even among neighboring regions, it's good to also have the many regional averages.

It's too rudimentary. There are some homogeneous nations out there, and others that are simply not. In Moldova and Romania one could range from Bulgarian-like to Carpathian Ukrainian-like and everything in between like different types of South Slavs and Hungarians. Capturing all of that diversity with a single average is simply impossible.

Truth be told, most nations range between all/most of their neighbours. Your example does not make Romania special in this aspect.
There are of course some exceptions - like Slovenia where no Slovene is Italian-like - but they are less numerous than the opposite.
Are Hungarian-like Romanians equally numerous as Bulgarian-like Romanians? Maybe try to look at the numerical size of each group.
Then it might turn out that for example 4/5 of Romanians belong to "Central Romanian" group, and those others are just minorities.

Among native Romanians, it's more typical of those in Northern latitudes (Maramures, Northern Crisana, Northern Transylvania, Bukovina, Northern Moldavia, ) and in the East (Republic fo Moldova). For example I'm one of those who plots closer to Csango and Transylvanian Hungarian+Szekely averages than to many regional averages of my ethnicity.

Further South in Transylvania there will be plenty too, but those are oftentimes obvious assimilated Hungarians.
In terms of who is more numerous, there are about 7 million people in Oltenia, Muntenia and Dobruja regions. That number doesn't include Bucharest which is a melting pot of people from all over the country, but mainly South. There live also many people from Republic of Moldova and former Romanian territories like Budjak and Northern Bukovina.
In Maramures, Northern Crisana, Northern Transylvania, Bukovina, Northern Moldavia, there are 6 million people. That leaves 4.5 million for rest of Transylvania and Banat. Bucharest counts for an additional 2.3 million.
And that is why the Romanian average lands somewhere in the region of Montenegrins/Southern Serbs, which can probably be modelled like 65% Bulgarian and 35% Transylvanians Hungarian.

New Czech average made of only full ethnic Czechs with gedcoms, and weighted for regional size (Bohemia>Moravia), people with partial eg. German or Jewish ancestry excluded.
