He may have ancestry from further East. I do suspect there is an overrepresentation of people with roots in former Prussia among the German testers. Perhaps they are more interested in family history and genealogy (most Gedmatch accounts are made for genealogy purposes, not the calculators).

Very interesting update. I tried to use all Polish averages (without Masuria and Silesia my 2 closest distances, no ancestry from areas) all German (without Prussia) + Hungary, Moldova, Romania.
It seems that I can have some ancestry from south Germany. I thought it could be Hungary or Moldova, but I never score Hungary/Moldova.

This result is within the typical range for Kashubians, who can also score "Southwest_Finnish" before Polish and with high distances.
