I liked most of her dishes. She was good cooking Spanish and Venezuelan dishes. But she also liked to make cooking experiments after finding out about recipes of different countries, and sometimes cooked Argentinian and Chilean empanadas, Mexican dishes, American dishes, Greek dishes, Italian dishes (like Lasagna, Spagetti Bolognese, Putanesca, Napolitan, etc), Indian dishes, etc.

Sigh ... before the dementia, my mum used to be an excellent cook. Desi dishes, of course, but the flavours were awesome.
Now I'm stuck looking up how to cook chicken thighs, on youtube!

2. She got better.
She used to cook meat straight from the package. Nothing on it. No salt or pepper.
I remember the first time she made me spaghetti. She thought ketchup was pasta sauce.
Thankfully I had friends whose Mom's knew how to cook and I'd sometimes eat over there.

5, because while she is very good at the same few Czech/Slovak recipes, she is utterly hopeless outside of that culture's food. Anything Czech/Slovak she makes is out of this world delicious. She once tried to make Chinese type food by substituting soy sauce with Worcestershire, and would like wrap random things in tortillas and fry them with fajita seasoning to try to replicate Mexican food. The duality of moms lol. But she didn't grow up with an internet full of easy to follow recipes so I don't blame this on her.
Don't take anything on the internet too seriously. Look: 🐓🚗. The chicken is bigger than the car. None of this is real. And people who have arguments on the internet are losers.

My Mom's excuse is that her mother did not teach her how to cook. My Mom wasn't allowed in the kitchen. My Mom didn't teach me how to cook either. I wasn't allowed in the kitchen except to get a spoon to eat peanut butter. She tried to teach me how to iron clothes when I was 12.
