Looking at these figures again, the surprisingly high proportion of immigrants and ethnic minorities with university qualifications can be mainly explained by the London factor - Londoners are generally better-educated/qualified than the rest of the country, and immigrants and ethnic minorities are disproportionately concentrated in the capital. However, when looking at other urban areas, immigrants and ethnic minorities are no more well-educated/qualified than the White population, and in many cases less so.
