Possibly your Native American is too distant. These tests only go back approximately 6 generations. K13 is not really proof though. This is my daughter's result on K13 and she doesn't have anyone in her ancestry that could be Native American.

Do you have other commercial dna tests that give you Native American like Ancestry for example? I would take more seriously results like that. If you have Grandparents still around it would be worthwhile getting them tested as they would be closer to the source.

You're welcome. Also X2 is not just Native American but quite widespread but it is definitely an interesting mtdna to have.

Subclade X2 appears to have undergone extensive population expansion and dispersal around or soon after the Last Glacial Maximum, roughly 20,000 years ago. It is more strongly represented in the Near East, the Caucasus and southern Europe and somewhat less strongly present in the rest of Europe. The highest concentrations are found in the Ojibway (Canada) (25%), Sioux (USA) (15%), Nuu-Chah-Nulth (12%), Georgia (8%), Orkney (Scotland) (7%), and amongst the Druze Assyrian community in Israel (27%). Subclades of X2 are not present in native South Americans.[6] The oldest known archeological site associated with X2 is Kennewick Man, whose ca. 9000-year old remains were discovered in Washington State.
