It was multi-ethnic as a kingdom but not all slovaks are mixed with all of those populations. My father is from the region north of Nitra and all of his ancestors to the late 1700s early 1800s were slovaks. I didnt even find one hungarian name.

My ancestors come from the west of Slovakia. Small Carpathians, Záhorie.
My family tree has been processed since about 1700 in Hungary.
My grandfather on my mother's side is from Moravia, they came During the first republic of Czechoslovakia.
I have Croatian, Hungarian, German and one French surname in my family tree.
The Small Carpathians were the border of Hungary.
There were tribes, the Polovtsians-Cumans, the Sikuls. Many Germans, Moravians and Czechs came here. Probably many Poles with Stibor. Then came the Croats.
And the surname does not have to be authoritative. It can change even over a few generations.
