Dude you know that you can go to the doctor if you have trouble with your hearing nowadays? If you hear "just screaming" and can't actually distinguish the instruments and layering that sounds like a medical problem... Honestly half of the people in this thread needs that. The other half needs to grow balls and move on from power metal, you all sound like oversensitive liberal zoomers yourself

If you can't listen to certain music - be it metal or electro or opera or industrial - because it's "just noise" or "too weird" due to being unable to distinguish and parse more complicated melodies and layered sounds you're demonstrating low IQ behaviour. Sure, you can go back to listening to the Beatles and Taylor Swift or whatever but that doesn't change the fact you're intellectual and cultural peasants.
    Rap is just bad though.

They're being taught a load of woke nonsense in schools about people having 100+ genders and are taught that men can get pregnant, and are taught to get offended and outraged and have a mental breakdown over being "misgendered" with their biological pronouns. They call this the Alpha Generation!? More like the Confused Generation of attention seekers who want to feel different and unique, and who don't even know if they're a boy or a girl.... or "non-binary", or whatever.

The schools are turning them into a Nutcase Generation.

There were recent news articles in the UK about a girl in a school who said she identified as a cat, and two other girls then told her that she's a homo sapien and not a cat. Their teacher then reprimanded and scolded the girls for saying that she's not a cat. https://www.lbc.co.uk/news/school-gi...investigation/

At a state secondary school in Wales, one student is said to "meow" when asked questions by a teacher, rather than answering in English. https://www.lbc.co.uk/news/school-gi...investigation/

In other UK schools, teachers are allowing children to identify as horses, dinosaurs, and even moons: https://www.lbc.co.uk/news/school-gi...investigation/

I think that the best generation were the Silent Generation (aka "The Greatest Generation") who endured real hardships as they lived through WW2, heavy bombings, many premature losses of their loved ones, food rationing, etc. They were the politest and most dignified generation who rarely complained about life. Their generation was full of so many brave, resilient, and courageous people.

Most western rock bands are pretty good, but listen only to metal or hard rock is a bit tiring sometimes. In fact, I always expect some very dark and twisted slow rock pieces to interpose between quick metal and rock tracks.

I might have to revise my earlier opinions on rock, since I did not start to listen to metal and rock often by that time. But now I have started to discover this genre more in depth, my listening tolerance does not always underline that I feel it a good song/ rock piece. But I must admit so far western metal and rock bands are mostly good. I recently have bought many CDs of 10-20 western bands, I enjoy all of them. Like Smashing Pumpkins, Guns and Roses, however, I always love a retreat to pop and soft rock genres like Genesis, Pink Floyd for a musical picnic. Although I do not listen to metal all the time, but yea, they are pretty good.

Skandinavian rock? I am looking forward to them, also I have just bought a Seether CD, a band from South Africa. I love it.

    Viva to Metal and Rock.

What kind of scandinavian metal do you mean? Melodic/Symphonic like Sabaton, Sonata Arctica, Nightwish or Black/Death Metal?

It really depends, but usually harder metal. I find a lot of melodic metal reminds me too much of a pokemon theme song or something

Meh that's all clickbait nonsense. My Iranian friend's daughter is 12 and she can only tolerate metal. I make her playlists with things like Incantantion, Gorguts , Pantera, Melekesh and she absolutely loves it. And she's not a rare exception I know for a fact quite a few teenagers love their metal.

There is an interesting contrast on this, you don't have a stereotypical metalhead look lol, especially extreme metal. But nowadays extreme metal's popularity increased a lot though, there are many non-metal fans listening to black metal currently.

Hammerfall was the only acceptable power band to the death/black people.

Bands like Iron Maiden and Metallica were those that were acceptable to everyone.
I like power metal but hate most black metal.
