It's been a while since I stopped using linux, and moved to openBSD :-).

Yes, it runs ok on my machine but the battery life is lackluster on OpenBSD . The latest version of openbsd has a lot performance improvements but in SMP etc.. but not in battery life whether through the ACPI system or whatnot. OpenBSD iss my favorite OS to administer otherwise though the man pages are fantastic.

Ok you've got a point here
But I would never personally use debian because of the systemd virus. I have used Devuan before, and I had a good experience with it, but eventually moved to arch linux based artix or obarun.
Battery on my x200 is alright, there's not much difference between linux and openBSD, the battery life is pretty similar on both systems.
