Through fields and forests, roads unplanned, They roam the world, a nomad band. Beautiful women, heroic men, In the Roma, life’s magic begins again.
"The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly. I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep." (John 10:10-11)

I'm confused why gypsies call them themselves Roma. They think they are Italian now? No offense but I don't get it.

Can’t see it, NYTimes online requires a subscription, and I ain’t doing that shit. There are many more useful things I should be spending on (I’m cheap) , thus NYT is on the bottom of the list.
"3:16 For YHWH so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.."

The artist wanted to show the exclusivity of the gypsies, their suffering on a par with the Jews. Neither of them suffered. The Holocaust is a myth. Russians and Germans suffered during World War II. Nobody else!

Wikipedia
The Romani, also spelled Romany or Rromani, colloquially known as the Roma, are an Indo-Aryan ethnic group who traditionally lived a nomadic, itinerant lifestyle in Europe. Linguistic and genetic evidence suggests that the Romani originated in the Indian subcontinent; in particular, the region of present-day Rajasthan. Their subsequent westward migration, possibly in waves, is now believed to have occurred by historians around 1000 CE. Their original name is from the Sanskrit word डोम (doma) and means a member of a Dalit caste of travelling musicians and dancers. The Doma (Roma) population moved west into the Persian Ghaznavid Empire and later into the Byzantine Empire. The Doma/Roma arrived in Europe around the 13th to 14th century. Although they are dispersed, their most concentrated populations are located in Europe, especially central, eastern and southern Europe (notably southern France), as well as western Asia (mainly Turkey).

They always called themselfes roma, just it was not recognised that others call them that, now it turned politically correct, but they themselfes always called themselfes roma, and it has etymologically very different roots and meaning than rome in italy or romans, not related just sounds similar. Like Albannach and Albania.

That is nonsense, gypsies were exterminated in the holocaust, do you say that is a lie? They were exterminated even if they had only a drop of gypsy blood, like mixed people, they were exterminated because they were not aryans, they also were no threat, like the ussr was a threat to germany, so they attacked them, but gypsies didnt had a military or nothing, and they were exterminated just because they exist and were considered a threat to humanity and purity.
