Football is tribal - I love my club because I know everyone that follows it we belong to the same roots and it's a special feeling celebrating with your people.
I have gone all over the world supporting my football club. But thats all we do support the team. Going to another country in aim to kill is completely brainless.

The Greek government rallies the nation against a new foreign bogeyman and mitigates public dissent, with the help of their media.
The Croatian government gets rid of political undesirables (and their leader) by having them get banged up abroad.

Hooligans are basically criminals who are afraid to be criminals so they pretend to be football fans. It happens everywhere. That's why my passion for football decreased on recent years and I rarely go to the stadium.
