There have been quite a few protests but this is the first that has got a bit out of hand. Irish parties have been stable for generations and basically there are two main parties i.e. Fine Gael and Fianna Fáil. They are both more centrist parties but Fianna Fáil appear a bit more to the left as they support more social spending. Sinn Féin is gaining more support but are left leaning and of course grew out of Irish nationalism but is now somewhat at odds with the Irish working class who are most affected by immigration and growing a bit annoyed with the amount of asylum seekers being put in their areas and the growing problems that have ensued.

Basically the Irish have not had much choice in who they elect but no doubt with the rising anger of people annoyed with the amount of unsustainable immigration there will be parties that will fill the void. Ireland has a housing crisis and overcrowded classroom and other issues which the governments have not tackled.
Anyway there is a trend happening in Europe for people that look at the media and Europeans are getting sick of uncontrolled immigration and people being imported that have problems integrating.
