Here it is considered rude if you don't greet people on the street if you live in small town or village. Or people in your building. Also if you don't give up your seat to elderly person or woman with child in the bus.
But smiling to strangers is considered odd if not downright creepy.

Interesting I guess different cultures and manners I mean it's not the daily norm for us either but yeah I think you get my point, anyway glad to know this wouldn't like being arrested for supposed sexual harrasment LOL, If I ever visit Croatia.
Also spaniards are very bloody cold in everything compare to us.
