I thought a fitting first video for the year would be a discussion about why I talk about what I talk about on youtube and my purpose and intent behind it. To this day, in the current year, we still suffer from ideological blank slatism and it is an upwards battle in fighting it. However small the dent I can make I, I plan on fighting the idea of "we're made of magic stuff" now and in the future.
Wake up and smell the coffee.

Humans do have free will and the ability to change and remake themselves, but at the same time the notion that we are complete tabula rasas is dangerous and misguided.

It is often claimed that whilst beauty, intelligence and athleticism are not given to all, the joy of hard work is a universal that all can participate in in equal measure, a true freebee that will not only improve your life, it is the key to all success in life. Hard work is the beginning and the end of a mindnumbingly stupid platitude that we have heard our whole lives but how true is it and what do we really know about our capacity to work hard? Let's put an end to this BS.
Wake up and smell the coffee.

Re hard work: many people confuse it with productivity. Depending on the technology available and working atmosphere, it is possible for someone who works three hours a day and is mostly just pushing buttons in a highly automatised factory to be actually more productive than someone who works twelve hours a day in a factory with relatively basic or outdated tools.

It's a good talk i agree with for the most part. It's not about excusing all of it but knowing what you are up against and why. It's necessary to comprehend the world around and effectively adjust to it.
There s only one more ridiculous concept than thinking humanity came to existence 6000 years ago. It's that current human behaviors are the results of the last 6 years of Instagram and Tinder.
