Whisky is one of the most complex spirits in the world. It doesn't even make sense to compare it to vodka.

My body couldnt handly whisky as well as vodka to be frank. Most likely high quality vodka was the best alcohol- if you pick your poison so to say- without suffering too much the next day- however i did like to drink 1,2 glasses of good whiskey back then.

Vodka is not a full-fledged strong alcoholic drink - it is a sauce for various dishes, or a base for cocktails. You won’t drink it separately from everything else. Vodka has almost no taste; good vodka is well-purified vodka. Good vodka gives the least hangover among ALL alcoholic drinks (if you drink a lot).
Whiskey can be drunk on its own, and there is a wide variety of flavors and varieties available.
Both drinks are good.

Vodka has three plus sides to it:
1) It's cheaper than whisky.
2) It can be used as a good quick shot of warmth in a flask when you're outside and freezing your bollocks off (did I mention it's cheaper than whisky?)
3. When you have a bad cold and your throat is all clogged up, it can be used quickly to open it. (did I mention it's cheaper than whisky?)
For everything else: there is brandy, whisky, cognac or Grand Marnier.
Wake up and smell the coffee.

I fell in love with rakija - I liked the apricot one so much that I bought the other three varieties from this manufacturer (Simex). How did they retain so much of the original fruit flavor after two distillations? The French, with their cognac and Calvados, don’t do that.
Don't confuse base with derivatives.
