That's my point though - this notion that Nazism was an albeit extreme and violent reaction to the libertinism of the Weimar period is itself really half-baked and dubious. In fact, leaving aside the significant number of rapes that did occur during La Guerra Civil and the substantial number of brothels that existed during the Franco dictatorship itself, I'd say that the Falangist regimes in Portugal and especially Spain were more truly puritanical than the Nazis.
